Hello Creatives,
I have a sample lesson on my YouTube channel comparing Affinity Designer with Adobe Fresco (from my recent Affinity-Fresco masterclass). Actually, I just heard last week that Fresco is now completely for free, including all of its extra features! Wow, Adobe :) How about you make Illustrator free too? ;) wink wink
So as you are watching my video, either on YouTube or perhaps on Skillshare, please be mindful of the following Fresco changes:
Adobe made all their Fresco brushes unlocked! However, mainly raster-art illustrators will profit from that change. For vector art, the choice is still limited because vectors have a different nature anyways (texture not possible).
Basically more brushes flexibility. Users can now import brushes from Adobe Photoshop and other sources.
Enhanced animation capabilities, which I am personally not using. The animation features, which include frame-by-frame animation tools and motion paths, are now accessible to all users.
This decision by Adobe potentially broadens Fresco’s user base, making it attractive to digital artists. I think that they want to present a good alternative for Procreate, targeting iPad users. For me personally, it’s not a big change. I was still able to use the software to its max and combine it with using predominantly Affinity Designer.
What about you? Have you tried Fresco already? Make sure to leave a comment:
