Totally! I also started to leave my phone on my desk, instead of taking it to my bedroom, and I bought a traditional alarm clock :) That also helped me a ton to unwind during bedtime and rather grab a physical book that my phone to scroll.
I'm back in that same position of wanting to move on from Instagram as I keep finding myself mindlessly scrolling when I don't want to be. I love seeing what my creative friends are up to on there so I would miss that, but Im wondering if I can just unfollow a whole of people who I don't interact with instead. Or just delete the app on my phone, that is probably more productive!
I find much more valuable content here on Substack yeah! It feels less algorithm-driven and it’s also great that it allows more text, for more reflection and less “fast consumption”. In a way it’s like a digital newspaper, but really targeting my interests 🥰
Yes I really enjoy the writings, people can actually spell and write coherent and constructive information, and humour! Plus I love the art and not being sold to constantly. I did read on one of the pages here that Substack may eventually go the same way as IG if their investors demand high returns! 😵💫
I like the feel of Bhance and was using it along with Adobe portfolio for my portfolio for a while but those shady terms Adobe put out last year along with their ramping up of using AI has me backing off Adobe products.
Thanks for sharing these! I’ve decided to stop posting new work on Insta and focus on my blogsletter, but it’s good to see these other options with different strengths to consider.
Blogsletters should be the top of our priority! Or separately, a newsletter and our own website. Something that will not perish if the platform doesn’t exist anymore or changes the rules of the game 👀
Especially LinkedIn is so underrated! But it kinda catapults you from that “amateur instagramer” to a more professional artist, or someone who aspires to be a professional 🙌
this was so helpful, thank you! i have never heard of behance, i just downloaded it :) i also have been watching my linkedin rot in the corner for a while (i made it once in high school for a class, and i update it once in a blue moon), but this has given me a push to find ways to use it for me!
Thanks so much for this. Everything you’ve said makes sense. I like the idea of mindfully accessing IG as I am not ready to say goodbye to it. But certainly I need more boundaries with it.
Always be in control of your life...
I mute my phone...I am in control who and when I speak to someone

I totally agree… I am also in the transition phase of moving across on to behace and LinkedIn!

wholeheartedly agree with this approach!
Yaaaay! 🙌
I love how you’ve positioned your newsletter! Great topic as a fan of the art of writing a newsletter I think yours is great!
Thanks so much Adam! Happy to see you here 🥰🙌

I honestly like Behance and LinkedIn, I recently started posting to YouTube this year too. You're right many underestimate these sites
